what is this machine for?

 harborly charge provides portable phone charger rentals so you can stay charged while you’re out.

how do I rent a charger?

 scan the QR code or follow the on-screen prompts to start your rental.

is this easy for customers to use?

Yes. the process takes seconds! Scan, grab, and go. customers can return the power bank to any harborly kiosk.

do I need to download an app?

No app download required. Everything happens right at the kiosk. Simply scan, pay, and grab a power bank. No app required.

 

what devices are compatible?

Our batteries are designed to work with most modern smartphones, including iPhone and Android devices, using standard charging cables. If your device requires a specialty connection, compatibility may vary.

 

can I rent more than one battery at a time?

Each rental is for one battery at a time. If your group needs multiple batteries, each person can rent individually at the kiosk.

how much does it cost?

Renting a battery costs $4 per 12 hours of use. The initial $30 replacement charge if the battery isn’t returned. Return the charger and the hold will be removed.

what’s the authorization hold I see on my card?

When you rent a battery, we place a temporary hold (up to $30) to cover the replacement cost. It’s not a charge and the balance less your rental fee is released once the battery is returned ($26 or $22 depending on whether you kept the battery up to 12 or 24 hours). You are only charged the full amount ($30) if the battery is not returned.

 

what if I returned the battery but still see a charge?

In most cases, the authorization hold will automatically be released after your return is confirmed. If you believe you were charged incorrectly, contact us and we’ll review it right away.

how long does a battery last?

Our batteries are designed to give most smartphones at least one full charge. Actual battery life depends on your device, its current charge level, and how you’re using it. Think of it as a solid top-up that gets you through the night.

 

is my phone safe?

Our batteries are designed for standard charging and are safe for normal use with consumer devices. That said, harborly charge is not responsible for any damage to your phone or accessories. we recommend checking compatibility with your device if you have concerns. As always, use your best judgment when charging any device.

 

do I have to stay here while charging?

 No. You can take the charger with you during your rental period and return it afterward.

what if the battery doesn’t work?

If you receive a battery that doesn’t charge your device or isn’t functioning properly, please contact us at hello@harborlycharge.com (or hello@harborlyco.com) or text support line 781.705.0557. We’ll look into it and make it right. Our goal is for every rental to work exactly as expected.

returns & rental rules

where do I return the battery?

You can return your battery to any harborly charge kiosk. not just the location where you rented it. Just look for the kiosk, press "end rental prompt on the screen", slide the battery in, and you’ll get a confirmation. If you’re unsure where to find one, check with the venue staff or visit our website.

 

how long do I have to return the battery?

Batteries should be returned as soon as you’re done using them. If a battery is not returned within the allowed rental window, it may be considered unreturned and the $30 replacement fee may apply. We’ll send reminders to help you avoid this.

 

can I keep the battery overnight?

Batteries are intended for short-term use and should be returned as soon as you’re done. Keeping a battery beyond the rental window will result in a $30 replacement fee.

 

what happens after I return the battery?

Once your battery is returned and confirmed by the kiosk, your rental is complete and any authorization hold will be released automatically and you will be given an option for a receipt on the kiosk screen..

issues & edge cases

 

what happens if I don’t return the battery?

If you don’t return the battery within the rental period, a $30 replacement fee will be charged to the payment method you used. We’ll do our best to remind you before that happens. Batteries can be returned to any harborly charge kiosk. Not just the one you rented from.

 

what if the kiosk won’t accept my return?

If a kiosk is full or not accepting returns, try a nearby harborly charge kiosk or ask venue staff for guidance. If you’re unable to return your battery, contact us at hello@harborlycharge.com (or text 781.705.0557) and we’ll help make it right.

 

what if I lose the battery?

A $30 replacement fee is charged. this ensures the system stays available for all users.
